What an inspiring Wednesday at the Rotary Club of the Sunshine Coast-Sechelt! We were privileged to hear from Vicki Raw, the new Executive Director of the Sechelt Seniors Activity Centre, who shared her incredible knowledge and passion for ShelterBox with our members.
Drawing on her experience as former interim Executive Director of ShelterBox Canada and her 16 years as a dedicated Rotarian, Vicki gave us a comprehensive look at this remarkable organization's mission to ensure no family goes without shelter after disaster. From the Caribbean to Cameroon, ShelterBox has provided emergency shelter to over 3 million people in around 100 countries—transforming despair into hope, one family at a time.
Her presentation reminded us why we're Rotarians: to serve beyond ourselves and create lasting change in communities near and far. The partnership between Rotary International and ShelterBox is a powerful example of what we can achieve together.
Thank you, Vicki, for your inspiring leadership, your commitment to service, and for taking the time to share this important work with us. You've reminded us all that shelter isn't just four walls and a roof—it's the foundation for survival, stability, and dignity.
