Rotary Sunshine Coast member Laurean Reid talks fire safety and High Visibility House Signs with Rotary Pender Harbour member Lorraine Wareham.
The Rotary Club of the Sunshine Coast joined with the Rotary Club of Pender Harbour on October 6 in support of Fire Prevention Week, a Province of BC annual initiative to offer awareness about important fire prevention and safety information to those who attended the event.
The Pender Harbour Fire Department emergency response vehicles were on display. First responders gave demonstrations and educated people on safety procedures. The kids who participated were given red fireman helmets as a souvenir.
Our Club talked about the importance of owning High Visibility House Signs. When an immediate response is needed for a fire or a medical emergency a High Visibility House Sign makes it easier for your home to be found. The signs are made with reflective numbers that light up from the glare of headlights, making it much easier for them to identify where your home is, especially at night.
