Rotary goes to the Halfmoon Bay Fair
Members of the Rotary Club of the Sunshine Coast participated in the 56th Annual Halfmoon Bay Fair at Coopers Green Park last Sunday. The Fair, hosted by the Halfmoon Bay Community Association (HBCA), brought about 40 vendors and non-profit organizations from all over the Coast as part of their Marketplace attraction.
While live music rang out through the festivities, children played, and people enjoyed the lovely food and beverages. Sunshine Coast Rotary president Michael McKenzie and members Frank Havies, Darcy Long, and John Richmond chatted with people about many things Rotary. People who stopped by learned about Rotary’s People of Action projects happening in the community and were updated on worldwide End Polio initiatives. Rotarians from Maple Ridge and Richmond also stopped by to say hello and share their Rotary stories.
“It was great to be outdoors and chat with people about all of the good things we do at Rotary with our community and our international projects,” said McKenzie, who also volunteers for the HBCA. “The best thing about the Fair was how well it was attended. You could truly feel that sense of friendship among everyone.”
