There comes a time when every young person discovers the world is considerably larger than the street they grew up on. The Rotary Club of Sunshine Coast Sechelt is proud to help local students attend Adventures in Citizenship in Ottawa.
They meet young Canadians from other communities, learn about citizenship and government, exchange ideas and return home seeing their country, and perhaps themselves, a little differently. We send them away because we want them to come back with bigger ideas.
That's one of the nice things about investing in young people. You never know exactly what you're going to get back. A little more confidence? A future community leader? Maybe someone who eventually sits at a Rotary meeting wondering which young person we should send next.
