Leadership rarely arrives wearing a name tag. Sometimes it's sitting quietly in a high school classroom wondering whether it has anything important to say.
The Rotary Club of Sunshine Coast Sechelt helps sponsor young people to participate in Rotary Youth Leadership programs, better known as RYLA. They meet other young people, develop confidence, learn about leadership and discover that making a difference doesn't require waiting until you're forty-five and own a sensible pair of shoes.
We invest in young people because somebody once invested in us. The future of Sechelt isn't some abstract thing coming down the highway. It's already here. It may simply need encouragement, opportunity and somebody willing to say, “We believe you can do this.”
