International Projects
Rotary Club of the Sunshine Coast
We are inspired to support projects based on the principles of Rotary

— Ndandini
Our largest international project to date has been in the Ndandini and Kyaithani communities of Kenya. Through several efforts, we have provided a water source and transportation of the water to surrounding communities. In addition, be have contributed to the building of greenhouses for the community, and solar power for their local school. Every year we donate towards annual scholarships for their students. The Rotary Club of the Sunshine Coast Society works in partnership with Rotarians worldwide to strengthen our investment in this community, and to change the lives of people who live there.
— Polio
Ending Polio worldwide is an important mission to us. You will see us raising funds in our community to contribute to Polio initiatives and we also work with Rotary International and the Gates Foundation in support of more global endeavours. We are proud to say that we are very close to accomplishing the end of polio. Some global issues such as the COVID-19 pandemic have complicated this, however, the Rotary has contributed significantly to the vaccine administering protocols.

Sara Williams, Communications Officer for polio eradication, works with WHO’s polio eradication programme based in Amman, Jordan under the Global Polio Eradication Initiative (GPEI).
